'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' started with a simple dream: to bring true Neapolitan pizza to London. Established by the Baker family in 1985, our pizzeria began as a small, family-run place, with recipes passed down through generations.
'Henry Baker', our founder, learned the craft of pizza-making while traveling across Italy, studying with master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Upon returning to the UK, she aimed to recreate the magic of authentic Italian pizza, using time-honored techniques and the finest ingredients.
What began as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a cherished local landmark, yet our commitment to quality and authenticity remains unchanged. We still rely on wood-fired oven methods, prepare dough fresh daily, and source top-quality ingredients whenever possible.
Today, 'Crust & Ember Pizzeria' stays family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Baker family guiding our dedicated team. While we’ve welcomed some modern innovations, the core of our business remains unchanged: crafting delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
